South Dakota Weekend Getaways
Much of South Dakota is very sparcely populated and fairly remote. The landscape sprawls out for hundred and hundreds of miles between the small towns which occasionally dot the landscape. In the farthest NW corner, the Grand River National Grasslands are surround the Shadehill Resrvoir, a popular spot for camping and other outdoor activities. But with only a weekend to spare it's probably best to stick close to cities like Aberdeen and Pierre. Both charming and Both with enough ammenities to keep you fed and sheltered. But if you want a romantic weekend together with nothing but the sounds of the winds to accompany here, this region could be ideal for you.

South Dakota Weekend Getaway - Jet Away!
Hop a flight to see Mobridge & Lake Oahe or Timber Lake or attend Mobridge Area Art Show in April
or Spring Fine Arts and Crafts Show in Aberdeen in March. Just because it's a weekend doesn't mean it won't be
memorable. The important thing to remember when considering far
away romantic travel with only a weekend to spare is to find something
specific you especially want to experience while you're there. Consider
checking out some of the great South Dakota events like Boss Cowman Rodeo and Celebration in Lemmon in July or Hats Off to the Artists Show in Faulkton in March.
A weekend is definitely not enough time to explore all of South Dakota,
but what could be more romantic than hopping a short flight to have
a romantic dinner and see a show on Saturday in Buffalo, and then
enjoy brunch Sunday morning and heading home. Maybe a wonderful
Newell resort offers a great weekend spa package for two, giving
you just enough time to relax, unwind and connect with one another.
The best thing about weekend getaways is they help give us great
ideas for future travel destinations. Imagine when you're coworkers
ask you "So what did you do this weekend?" you can say
"Well, on Saturday I had lunch... in Buffalo."
