Montana Weekend Getaways
Montana is a rugged place but if you and your love like roughing it, you may have found the ideal place for a weekend romantic Montana getaway. Billings is the state's most urban center with a population over 100k, and all the comforts of any big city. With only a weekend to spare we suggest exploring Billings and experiencing a true Western city. While you're there visit the Beartooth Nature Center which cares for animals which are found injured and cannot be returned to the wild. Then drive along the famous Beartooth Highway which is exceptionally beautiful but only open when the weather permits; Memorial Day through Labor Day. You can't spend too much on a hotel here; they just don't build 'em that way here. The most luxurious hotel we could find was the Crown Plaza Billings. But if you want a little more flare, you might consider Rock Creek Resort in nearby Red Lodge, MT.
The northernmost edges of the magnificent Yellowstone National Park roll into the towns of Bozeman and Livingston making it an exceptiopnal place to spend a romantic weekend. There is a sense of real Old West here and plenty of choices for accommodations. There are B&Bs cabin rentals to suit any budget. there are also great opportunities for camping. Head to Helena, Montana's Capital city to feel a mix of Victorian architecture that is often overrun with 1200 lb elk. Check
out National Folk Festival in July or Winter Canival in Red Lodge in February. Be sure to take at
least one day of your weekend and visit Great Divide Mountain!
There aren't any big cities up North, but Montana isn't really known for it's cosmopolitan style. The Northeastern region is considered by some the most remote and although it may lack some of is couterpart's more notable scenic attractions, there are great weekend getaways to be had here. Start by choosing on of this region's small towns like Havre, Glasgow, Glendive or Wolf Point and chart your course through them with the help of a map or GPS. We suggest you pack a tent as we had a tough time finding accommodations in theis region. Plan ahead and be there for the Bonnie City Blues & Brews Festival in May or Glasgow Feather Fest in June.
If you're out this far, why not visit the Log Cabin Bar in Brockton! Find more

If you happen to live in Montana, traveling to a small and secluded
place is easy. Lodging rates in small hidden towns like Kalispell,

smaller towns in Montana offer great little B&B's or cabin
making a quick weekend escape easy and inexpensive. There are always
quaint little shops to explore as well as great home cooking at
local restaurants. Above all, small towns can offer real quiet and

from home, the right resort or hotel can make you feel as if you
are another world away.
Montana Weekend Getaway - Jet Away!
Hop a flight to see Iceberg Lake or Going-to-the-Sun Road or attend Huckleberry Festival in Trout Creek in August
or Glasgow Feather Fest in June. Just because it's a weekend doesn't mean it won't be
memorable. The important thing to remember when considering far
away romantic travel with only a weekend to spare is to find something
specific you especially want to experience while you're there. Consider
checking out some of the great Montana events like Whoop-Up Days and Rhubarb Festival in Conrad in June or Bonnie City Blues & Brews Festival in May.
A weekend is definitely not enough time to explore all of Montana,
but what could be more romantic than hopping a short flight to have
a romantic dinner and see a show on Saturday in Great Falls, and then
enjoy brunch Sunday morning and heading home. Maybe a wonderful
Missoula resort offers a great weekend spa package for two, giving
you just enough time to relax, unwind and connect with one another.
The best thing about weekend getaways is they help give us great
ideas for future travel destinations. Imagine when you're coworkers
ask you "So what did you do this weekend?" you can say
"Well, on Saturday I had lunch... in Great Falls."
